Solar Eclipse in Virgo 2025
The Virgo Solar Eclipse on September 21st signals fresh starts, following the emotional lunar eclipse. It calls for reflection, grounding, and embracing change with ritual and intuition as we shift into Libra season.
Insights from the Harvest Goddess ~ Solar Eclipse in Virgo
21st September PDT: 12:54 | EDT: 15:54 | BST: 20:54
The second eclipse of the month falls at the final degree of earth sign Virgo. Occurring just before we move into Libra season, this solar (new moon) eclipse signifies powerful new beginnings and follows a lunar eclipse earlier this month. Eclipses have a knack for pressing the cosmic reset button and this one is no exception. Let’s explore this potent lunation to understand its significance…
Whilst the first eclipse of the season suggested high emotions and culminations, this second eclipse speaks to a new chapter, but not without some reflection. This solar eclipse in Virgo carries a message with heightened harvest goddess energy behind it - the importance of preparation and grounding, the magic of ritual and the nourishment of a felt sense of intuition. We may feel tested to invoke all these parts ready for the change of astrological season to Libra, and Mars moving signs into Scorpio, happening the following day.

Wisdom for new beginnings…
This solar eclipse involves the south node - suggesting that we are at a cosmic release point now - and the sun’s journey through Virgo (from 22nd/23rd August to 21st September) to the last degree of the sign, has perhaps provided some valuable insights. Consider where you have had to/ still might need to let go to move forward.
On the opposite side of the heavens, Saturn in Pisces will also bring gravitas and presence to this eclipse. As a key player during eclipse season, Saturn may highlight an area of life where some more work needs to be done. Returning to the water world of Pisces after dipping into Aries for a few months, it begs the question – what final lesson is Saturn trying to give us? Make room for this planet to impart wisdom so that any new beginnings will have steady foundations.

How to work with the Virgo Solar Eclipse
-
Lighten your schedule and fill your cup! The skies have been busy this September - make time to focus on self-care and activities that replenish your energy. Leave space in your diary for rest and relaxation.
-
Connect to nature and ground yourself: As the seasons change, take time to connect with nature. The earth energy of Virgo invites us to take a walk outside, get our hands in the soil or stand barefoot on the grass – calm the mind and tune back into the body.
-
Consider what you have harvested: What have you learnt during eclipse season? What has been illuminated? Reflect on any insights you have gained over August/ September.
-
Let the dust settle before you set intentions: During eclipse season, I tend not to set intentions as the energy is usually turbulent, and I prefer to set intentions when the energy is more receptive. Work with your intuition here - but consider this as a key time where you are resetting your compass and feeling out new intentions - ready for setting when the dust has settled…
New information…
Solar eclipses often have a way of shunting us back on our life path by revealing new information. The extent to which you may feel this will depend on your own planetary placements, but around the eclipse - take time to reflect on the last lunar cycle, you may notice things look very different from what they did at the last new moon. Pause, reflect and then focus forward.
